Announcing Increased Rates for 2021

Urban Soul Osteopathy will be increasing its rates in the new year:  Please see the memo below for more detail.

Attention Valued Clients

As of January 2, 2021, Urban Soul Osteopathy will be increasing its rates. The new pricing structure will be as follows:

• Osteopathic Treatment: $70 HST included
• Youth Osteopathic Treatment: $45 HST included
  (10-15 years old)

The price increase will reflect my level of experience and new changes to the Canada Revenue Agency’s designation for Osteopathic Manual Practitioners. HST must now be charged for all Osteopathic Manual Treatment services and is already included in the above pricing.

HST Designation Changes

In September 2020, the Canada Revenue Agency announced that Manual Osteopathic Treatment, if performed by an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner, will no longer be eligible for HST exemption.  Apparently, Manual Osteopathic Treatment is only HST exempt if performed by a Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.). To understand the difference between these designations please see the FAQ section of the website.

I am disappointed by this announcement.  I think it is a sign that the government values credentials more than results.
